The May Happy List is here!

photo-3

On my happy list today – a long walk and a hot coffee by the sea, baby girl beside me

Can you believe we are in May already? This is one of my absolute favourite months of the year. Apart from being my birthday month, it’s the month when so many flowers shrug off the last signs of winter and come into full bloom. So much to be thankful for this month.

Each month we share a free downloadable ‘Happy List’ as a place for you to capture the things – small and big – that have made you happy and inspired you each day. Get yours here.

Wishing you a very happy May

Behind-the-scenes of making Do What You Love

Behind the scenes (MediaBrighton)-1

When we planned the facelift for our flagship online course Do What You Love (which is back after a two year break!) we knew we wanted to really bring it to life with the video aspect of the class. In week one of class I share a story about an experience on a boat aged 17 which changed everything for me, and we joked about chartering a yacht to film it on there. And then we thought, well actually, why not? And booked the boat!

We had a fun day filming with the lovely team at Ben Simon Media, and the crew from Lagoon Watersports in Brighton Marina. It was so good to get out on the water and put myself back in the situation I had been in when I had the greatest a-ha moment of my life. Here are a few pics from behind-the-scenes of filming (we even managed to give Mr K a cameo role!)

In truth I was pretty self-conscious with my extra 40lbs of baby weight, but in the end I decided that making the videos was more important than my embarrassment at what I looked like, and I did it anyway. Yay mama!

The Do What You Love course has just begun but you can still join us if you are quick. Registration is open here until tomorrow for latecomers. Participants have already started to have some significant breakthroughs and realisations, and the atmosphere in the class community is already more open, honest and supportive than any online community I have experienced. It is quite amazing. Join us here.

Permission granted

permission 550px

When we are children we are taught to ask our parents permission to stay up late, get down from the table, or invite a friend for tea.  We are taught to politely ask permission to do the things we want to do, or to hang out with the people we find interesting.

When we grow up, in theory we can do as we like. But the truth is, we often stay stuck in that mode of waiting for someone else’s permission to follow our dreams. Our lives get meshed with others’ lives, and there are implications of how we spend our time and our money.

But sometimes those around us don’t support our dreams, so if we wait for their permission, we’ll wait forever.

Sometimes they are too busy to notice we want it. Or maybe they just aren’t listening.

And sometimes, we haven’t actually asked.

But the truth is, the only permission you need is your own.

You need to let yourself be proud of who you are, permit yourself to make rules that work for you, and tell yourself it’s OK to follow your heart, whatever it takes.

Click here for a printable PDF version of this permission slip, write your name at the top and sign it.

Starting today, consider that permission granted.

And why not give yourself permission to invest some serious time into exploring what it is you really want from life. Join us and people like you from all over the world for the online adventure of a lifetime, starting today.

The Do What You Love e-course is a five week programme to help you think differently, dream bigger, and start making things happen. It starts TODAY, and you are invited. Click here to join us. It is going to be an epic voyage…

Live your adventure

As we approach the unveiling of the Do What You Love e-course (back next Monday after two years, having undergone a major facelift!) I wanted to share a peek into the five weeks of class, by way of a series of fun doodles created by Melinda Walker of OneSquigglyLine.com, in response to the weekly videos shared in class, which were all professionally shot in HD on location here in Brighton.

In Week 5 ‘Live your adventure’, you’ll commit to your plan — completely. Whether you’re committing “for the rest of your life” or just for the next phase of your life, you’ll be invited to go ALL in. And we’ll ALL go in — together.

Join me for a voyage of self discovery with the all new Do What You Love e-course (starts Monday!)

helm

Being at the helm of Do What You Love has been a huge adventure, and we are constantly learning and improving as we go. For some time I have wanted to revamp our flagship online course Do What You Love, to strip it back and make it even more visually inspiring.

Now we have done that, with new mini films, all professionally shot in HD, beautifully designed exercises to push you to a deeper level of self discovery, and a professional edit and restructure to make it an incredibly powerful experience.

On Monday we embark on our maiden voyage with the new-look course, and YOU are invited!

Previous course participants told us it was ‘awe-inspiring’, ‘life-changing’ and ‘transformational’. If the old version was all those things, just imagine the impact this new version will have.

Do you feel stuck? Uninspired? Overwhelmed? Like you have too many responsibilities? Too little time? Or too many choices perhaps?

Do you feel that you are just coasting through life with an OK job, surrounded by material things that don’t bring you quite as much pleasure as they once did?

Or do you feel you are a shadow of your former self, stuck in a pattern of putting other people first, saving your dreams for some day in the future?

Well how about you make today the day you begin to change all that?

Join us for Do What You Love and embark on the adventure of your life.

In Week 4: ‘Pave the way’, you’ll build a plan to do what you love — for life. Your plan might involve an exciting, dramatic career overhaul. Or it might require nothing more than a shift in the way you think + feel about your present circumstances. The details of your plan might surprise you!

Week One of the five-week course is themed ‘Choose your destination’. In it you’ll embrace the idea that “doing what you love” isn’t selfish, but actually better for you, the people around you, and the entire world. The short film sees me out on a yacht, sharing the story of the moment that completely changed my life when I was 17 years old.
